The trial for Jeremy Goodale, charged with killing his Spanish teacher in Fairfield, has been reset for May 15 in Scott County. The other teen charged, Willard Miller, will be tried March 6 in Pottawatomie County.

NEWSTRACK: The second-degree murder trial of Joshua Conklin, 29, of Cedar Rapids, is now set for Jan. 31 in Linn County District Court. He is accused in the 2019 slaying of a Cedar Rapids man staged to look like a suicide.

A Linn County jury took less than 90 minutes to convict Dimione Walker of first-degree murder in the April 10 fatal shooting of Michael Valentine inside the Taboo club in downtown Cedar Rapids. He reacted by smiling and almost laughing as the verdict was read.

The defense called police officers to the witness stand as it started its case in the Dimione Walker murder trial. Police officers testified that the Cedar Rapids man Walker is accused of killing at the Taboo club was a suspect in a 2016 gun incident in which Walker was injured.

An autopsy showed Tuesday that Michael Valentine was shot five times and died from multiple gunshot injuries. Walker told police he wasn’t at the club that night and denied knowing Valentine.

Dimione Walker denied to police that he was the man in surveillance video of the fatal shooting of Michael Valentine in April inside the Taboo club in Cedar Rapids. He also denied knowing Valentine or shooting him in self-defense.

Walker, 29, of Coralville, is accused of killing Michael Valentine on April 10 inside the Taboo Nightclub & Lounge in Cedar Rapids.

A prosecutor, during her opening statement Monday, said Dimione Walker was watching and staring at Michael Valentine as soon as he arrived at the Taboo night club April 10. Walker then seemed to walk away, but instead, spun around and started firing at Valentine.

Two women arrested this week in the murder of Cordal Lewis in January, was the result of an ongoing investigation after the shooter was charged. Surveillance video led to the additional arrests in the case.

Two women were arrested Wednesday in relation to a homicide that happened in January in Cedar Rapids, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Northern Iowa Fugitive Task Force.

Jury selection started today for a Coralville man accused of fatally shooting a Cedar Rapids man in April inside the Taboo club. Jury selection may take longer because there may be many familiar with the case or knew people at the club that night.

A judge granted a motion for a Marion man charged with fatally assaulting his infant son to undergo a mental evaluation.
