Submit a Milestone

Milestones is a feature of the Sunday Gazette. You can submit your milestone with this form or by visiting our office Monday-Friday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Deadline for Milestones

The Milestones submission deadline is typically nine (9) days before the targeted publication date, at 12 noon on Fridays. Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day Tributes deadline at 3 p.m. the Thursday prior to publication.


  1. Please fill out the form below.
  2. We will follow up with you by phone to take care of payment.
  3. If you plan to include a photo, select a layout size that can accommodate a photo, and the form will then update so that you can upload a photo. (Multiple-photo layouts start at the $55 layout size, for one-third and half-page layout options. 6 is the maximum number of photos that can be used.)
  4. After you press the “Submit” button, it may take several minutes for your form to be sent; please do not refresh the page or navigate away from it, or press “Submit” again, until the “Thank You” message appears.
  5. After your submission is sent, you should receive an automatically generated email letting you know that we have received your announcement. If you do not receive this email within 24 hours, please call 319-368-8873 or email (You also may send additional announcement photos to this email if needed.)
  6. Once we have prepared your announcement, we will contact you to complete your order, including taking care of payment.

Prepayment is required for all announcements, which are priced by the layout size. Dimensions listed in layout options below are in inches. Word count limits are approximate, and may vary depending on photo size. Word counts also include headlines. Wording may be edited for clarity/length. Photos run in color unless requested otherwise.
