Police objected to officer removals from McKinley and Roosevelt

Police said Kendall C. Johnson, 36, of Cedar Rapids, stabbed a 35-year-old man at least eight times in the neck, torso and extremities during an altercation last week at a residence in northwest Cedar Rapids.

Police said Jose Florentino Ramirez Landin suffered life-threatening gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
