Deputies said semi driver, Michael Lacourciere, 60, of Morton, Illinois, triggered a three-semi wreck Wednesday morning on Hwy. 151 West when he stopped on the roadway in a one-lane construction zone, then pulled onto the shoulder and began to back up.
The semi-trailer truck on eastbound Highway 30 left the roadway, entered the median and struck the guardrail and bridge column, according to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a release from Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner, inmates in a dormitory-style cell notified authorities shortly before 9 p.m. Friday that another inmate needed medical attention.
