Iowa City police found an unconscious 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound in a vehicle on Highway 6 when responding to a traffic crash on Sunday.

Iowa City Police said Dupree Savon Thompson, 23, of North Liberty, fired a gun during an altercation in an alleyway near the 100 block of South Clinton Street in the early morning hours of April 4 then fled the area.

County officials are debating whether they want a BearCat or an MRAP. The task now should be ensuring public oversight, which currently is nonexistent.
