Linn County Master Gardener presentations are taking place this month, with Tuesday events at the Hiawatha Public Library, 150 W. Willman St., and Thursday events at the Lowe Park Arts & Entertainment Center 4500 N. 10th St., Marion. All presentations are from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

‘Status quo’ spending plan includes raises for library shelvers

The city of Marion and the Chamber of Commerce are offering a survey to residents to give feedback on the Creekside Pride initiative, a plan to make Indian Creek more accessible for recreation.

The now-retired Grant Harper decided to run for office in 2019 after a career that included teaching and coaching at Linn-Mar and various positions at Iowa Electric (now Alliant Energy) and Pearson Education.

The event, initially scheduled for Jan. 20, will now take place on March 10

Some residents have been selected randomly to participate in the survey by mail, while an online link will be open to all residents in February.
