CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids man faces three counts of third-degree sexual abuse, accused of sexually abusing a teenager in 2005 and 2006.
James Patrick Shannon Sr., 50, made an initial appearance Thursday in Linn County District Court, with a preliminary hearing set for March 25.
According to a criminal complaint, a woman, now 30 years old, told family members and later a police officer that Shannon had abused her when she was a teenager. She gave investigators details about three incidents — two when she was 14 and one when she was 15, the complaint stated.
