Uptown Marion received a $100,000 Main Street Iowa Challenge Grant for the Davis-Draper Building from the Iowa Economic Development Authority, the district said Thursday.

The city discussed moving to one meeting per council week instead of two, but ultimately decided to keep the schedule. It is possible the council’s work session meetings could begin later to give more members of the public an opportunity to attend.
