Thursday marks two weeks since 11-year-old Xavior Harrelson left his home at a mobile home park in northwest Montezuma and disappeared. The Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that a reward fund has been established to encourage those who may have information regarding the boy’s disappearance to come forward.

Two people were arrested Monday night after they were allegedly caught stealing more than $1,300 worth of merchandise from Dick’s Sporting Goods in southeast Cedar Rapids. Further investigation revealed another $1,000 worth of stolen merchandise.

Authorities are investigating two separate incidents of possible animal abuse after seven chickens and 13 guinea pigs were discarded in two separate incidents. Six of the seven chickens were alive, but the guinea pigs were dead.

Authorities are searching for a 10-year-old boy who went missing from a mobile home park in Poweshiek County Thursday morning. Xavior Harrelson was last seen around 11 a.m. Thursday in Montezuma.
