CEDAR RAPIDS — Two people were arrested early Wednesday after a high-speed chase in a stolen sport utility vehicle, police said.
Officers were dispatched just after 2 a.m. to the 900 block of L Street SW, where a 25-year-old woman reported her 2007 Chevrolet Equinox had just been stolen, according to the Cedar Rapids Police Department.

While at the scene, an officer saw a Chevrolet Equinox in the 1000 block of L Street SW traveling the wrong way on the one-way street.
Police said the woman confirmed it was her vehicle.
According to police, the officer pursued the vehicle, which picked up speed as it traveled on L Street toward Eighth Avenue SW.
Police pursued the vehicle through southwest Cedar Rapids as it reached speeds up to 80 mph, until it turned into a parking lot in the 400 block of 33rd Avenue SW, where it came to a dead end at the Holiday Inn Suites parking lot.
Both suspects bailed out of the vehicle and tried to flee on foot but were apprehended, police said.
The driver, Miontre Min Boots, 19, of Cedar Rapids, admitted to taking the vehicle without permission, police said.
Boots faces charges of second-degree theft, felony eluding, interference with official acts, speeding and violating one-way traffic designation.
The passenger, Kazius Kaiser Childress, 19, also of Cedar Rapids, faces a charge of interference with official acts.
Both were taken to Linn County Correctional Center.
