Coe’s Tyler Elliott has always been a key component in the outfield, but this season he has increased his production at the plate. He ranks among team leaders in multiple offensive categories, leading the Kohawks in RBIs, doubles and slugging percentage.

The Kohawks tallied 27 hits and 18 runs in doubleheader sweep over the Rams, giving Coe a 7-4 advantage in the 2022-23 Bremner Cup Series between the two schools. Skyler Stookey had five hits with two home runs and five RBIs to boost the Kohawks.

The Hawkeyes had an interesting weekend. Plus, Coe and Upper Iowa picked up impressive wins, Brad Smith got his 700th dual victory and the IHSAA released regional dual pairings.

Trailing by four at intermission, Wartburg (10-0, 8-0 A-R-C) forced turnovers and capitalized on a few short fields in the second half to preserve its perfect season in a 19-14 win over Coe (7-3, 6-2).

The Coe Kohawks know there is more at stake in the regular-season finale against Wartburg. A chance for an American Rivers Conference title and a postseason berth is still dangling in front of them.
