The wife and mother of a Waterloo man who was fatally shot by an officer last year for eluding and driving erratically is suing the City of Waterloo and officer for wrongful death and use of excessive force.

A brief chase happened until the fleeing vehicle crashed and the occupants of the vehicle fled on foot.
