The Freshman Academy at Washington High School that is “soft launching” this fall will give incoming ninth-graders a “Washington Warrior hug” as they transition to high school, said Breanna Oxley, future teacher at the Academy.

Linn-Mar’s Morgan Rupp shot even-par 72 in the second round for a 141 total, winning third title at the Class 4A state golf meet Friday at Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City.

Linn-Mar’s Morgan Rupp has placed in the top five in all three state appearances, earning medalist honors the last two seasons. She will vie for a third straight crown at the Class 4A state meet Thursday and Friday at Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City.
