The 2020 Iowa high school girls' state basketball tournament tipped off Monday with seven quarterfinal games at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

Monday's girls' state basketball scores
CLASS 5A QUARTERFINALS
No. 2 Iowa City High 59, No. 9 Cedar Rapids Prairie 40
City High jumped out to a 12-0 lead and never trailed in an all-MVC matchup.
Prairie (20-4) cut the lead to 13-10 in the first quarter, but it was 27-17 by halftime and the Little Hawks (23-1) went up by as much as 22 in the second half.
Aubrey Joens scored a game-high 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds for City. Ella Cook added 13 points and nine boards and Rose Nkumu had 12 points and four assists. Sidney McCrea and Mallory McDermott led Prairie with 13 points each.
City won the regular-season meeting 85-53 on Feb. 7.

No. 4 Johnston 75, No. 7 Southeast Polk 71
Northern Iowa commit Maya McDermott poured in 30 points on 12-for-21 shooting to lead the Dragons (22-2) to the semifinals. She also had six rebounds and six assists. Kendall Nead added 22 points.
Brooke Woodyard led SEP (19-5) with 24 points and seven rebounds.
Johnston led 37-36 at halftime and broke a 64-all tie with an Anna Gossling 3-pointer with 2:28 to go.
The Dragons also won the regular-season meeting, 79-70 on Feb. 11.
No. 1 Waukee 76, Sioux City East 36
East (16-8) couldn't pull off a second straight shocker after upsetting No. 3 West Des Moines Dowling 67-63 in the regional finals.
Top-ranked Waukee (22-2) cruised to the semifinals, leading 29-9 after one and 45-16 at the half.
The Warriors hit 9 of 18 3-pointers and were paced by Katie Dinnebier's 24 points. She was 7 of 9 from the floor and made all eight of her free-throw attempts. Kennedy McCloy had 11 points for the Black Raiders.
No. 6 Waterloo West 51, No. 5 Cedar Falls 49
Cedar Falls led and by as much as 15 in the third quarter, but West rallied to tie it on a Halli Poock layup with 50 seconds to go, then take the lead on a Sahara Williams steal and layup with 13 seconds left.
Sydney Remmert's runner at the buzzer bounced off the rim.
Poock scored a game-high 27 points for the Wahawks (20-4), including a 14-for-17 mark at the free throw line. Emerson Green led Cedar Falls (19-5) with 19.
The teams split the regular-season series.
CLASS 3A QUARTERFINALS
No. 1 Dike-New Hartford 56, Jesup 43
The top-ranked Wolverines (23-1) used a 20-9 second quarter to go up 33-25 at halftime and wrapped up their third win over Jesup (20-5) this season.
Ellie Foster scored 21 points for Dike-New Hartford, including 20 in the first half.
Amanda Treptow had 14 points for the J-Hawks.

No. 5 North Polk 68, No. 4 Red Oak 40
Maggie Phipps led three Comets in double-figures scoring with 27 points as North Polk (20-5) cruised to the semifinals.
Jaedon Murphy added 17 points, Lucy Schaffer 11 for NP, which led 20-10 after the first and 38-23 at halftime.
Chloe Johnson had 13 points for the Tigers (21-4).
No. 2 Clear Lake 60, No. 10 Davenport Assumption 46
The Lions (23-2) led 24-19 at halftime and pulled away thanks to a 19-9 third quarter for their first win at state.
Sara Faber led Clear Lake with 26 points on 10-for-15 shooting.
Natalie Moore had 17 points for Assumption (16-8).
