Iowa girls' state basketball 2019: Thursday's scores, stats, highlights and more

It's time for the semifinals at the Iowa high school girls' state basketball tournament. Championship matchups were determined Thursday in Classes 5A, 3A and 4A.

Thursday's state tournament schedule
CLASS 5A SEMIFINALS
No. 8 West Des Moines Valley 76, No. 1 Johnston 64
The Tigers (19-5) outscored the top-ranked Dragons (22-3) 14-2 in overtime for a spot in the 5A title game.
Zoe Young poured in 37 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Valley, while Shea Fuller scored 22 points. Regan Nesheim led Johnston with 26.
No. 3 Southeast Polk 72, No. 11 West Des Moines Dowling 61
Grace Larkins scored 24 points to lead threee Rams (21-3) in double-figures, plus had six rebounds and four assists. Maggie McGraw added 17 points, Jessica Stuart 16 and eight boards.
Caitlin Clark had 31 points and 10 rebounds for Dowling (17-8), which was outscored 25-9 in the fourth quarter.
CLASS 3A SEMIFINALS
No. 1 North Polk 65, No. 9 Waukon 49
The top-ranked Comets (23-2) built a 27-point fourth-quarter lead and coasted to a spot in the title game.
Jaedon Murphy scored a game-high 22 points on 8-for-11 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds, while Maggie Phipps made 8 of 15 shots and totaled 20 points. North Polk shot 54.3 percent.
Maddie Ahlstron and Lauren Griffith both scored 12 points for the Indians (19-4).
No. 3 Center Point-Urbana 55, No. 5 Des Moines Christian 26
CPU's swarming, trapping defense was again the difference as the Stormin' Pointers (23-2) came up with 18 steals and forced 28 total turnovers.
Ryley Goebel led the way with eight steals and forced 12 points. Adrianna Katcher had 15 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals. Kaili Lawson led DMC (23-3) with seven points.
CLASS 4A SEMIFINALS
No. 1 Marion 75, No. 4 Mason City 54
Defending champion Marion (23-1) made 13 of 26 3-pointers in a semifinal onslaught.
Ella Van Weelden had 16 points and 15 rebounds and was 5 of 10 from deep. Kayba Laube scored 20 points and Riley Wright added 14.
Megan Meyer led Mason City (16-9) with 23 points, hitting 6 of 14 3s.
No. 2 North Scott 75, No. 6 Sioux City Heelan 47
The Lancers (21-3) shot 56 percent from the field, including 12 of 21 from 3-point range to return to the championship game two years after winning the state title in 2017.
Grace Boffelli led four North Scott players in double figures with 24 points on 10-for-12 shooting. Brooke Corson added 12, Chloe Engelkes and Samantha Scott 11 apiece.
Katelyn Stanley and Ella Skinner both had 13 points for Heelan (19-6).
