TikTok bill pushed by Iowa’s U.S. Rep. Ashley Hinson heads to House floor

Rep. Ashley Hinson’s office had a “significant number of young people” call their office on Thursday, a spokesperson said, and “most sounded like they were in middle school.”

“First, we won in Court. Now, we’re going to win at the ballot box,” Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird said on social media.

Monday was the opening day to submit nomination papers for the June primary. The filing deadline to qualify for the primary ballot for state and federal offices in Iowa is March 15.

“It’s vital that we ensure that every dime of these settlement funds goes to help curb this deadly epidemic,” the Marion representative says.

Democrats opposed the bill, arguing its aim is to advance a Republican agenda to further restrict access to abortion.
