High school football teams play in the Iowa High School Athletic Association playoffs. All seven classes will compete in the Round of 16 for a spot in the state quarterfinals.

Week 5 Iowa High School football rewind: Beau Burns went off for 612 total yards (441 rushing) and 10 touchdowns in BGM’s 74-21 rout of Martensdale-St. Marys.

Cedar Rapids Washington’s Warrior Invitational continues to be one of the top regular-season golf meets, boasting some of the state’s top teams and individuals on unique and challenging courses.

High school volleyball: Area Super Ten. Clear Creek Amana reclaims the top spot after winning the Caroline Found Invitational.

The Saints recorded 293 and easily won by 11 strokes at the Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division meet Monday at Wildcat Golf Course. Freshman Harrison Hartke made it a Xavier sweep, winning medalist honors with 3-under 67.
