Iowa’s men’s wrestling team welcomes three All-America transfers, who could solidify the No. 2-ranked Hawkeyes. They will join a lineup with NCAA finalist Drake Ayala, All-Americans Nelson Brands and Michael Caliendo and young talents Gabe Arnold, Ben Kueter and Ryder Block.
The Big Ten Conference announced the men’s wrestling dual opponents for the 2024-25 season. The Hawkeyes learned their four home and away foes for conference competition.
Spencer Lee’s mother, Cathy, is a native of France. His Olympic debut will be in the country many of his maternal relatives still live. He will get to wrestle in front of his maternal grandmother for the first time when he opens against China’s Wanhao Zou Thursday in Paris.

Wrestling began Monday but Spencer Lee will compete Thursday at 125.5 pounds (57 kilograms) in men’s freestyle at the Olympic Games in Paris. Lee is the 20th Hawkeye wrestler to wrestle in the Olympics.

Brody Teske’s college career has included three programs in two states. He has also earned three trips to the NCAA Championships. In his sixth and final season, Teske will represent Iowa at 133 pounds for the Big Ten Championships this weekend at Maryland.
Iowa has six wrestlers seeded third or better and the competition for postseason spots has been settled. The Hawkeyes will look to try to improve last year’s runner-up finish at the Big Ten Championships March 9-10 at Maryland.
Fourth-ranked Iowa won seven matches, including Michael Caliendo’s victory over No. 3 Izzak Olejnik at 165, Patrick Kennedy’s major decision at 174 and a sudden victory decision by 125-pounder Drake Ayala, in a 22-9 win over No. 2 Oklahoma State Sunday in Stillwater, Okla.
