Police investigating 2 separate shootings Saturday in the city that led to injuries.

Officers investigating a Sunday night shooting in south Iowa City that has a 20-year-old Marine fighting for his life have identified a person they suspect to be “responsible for the driver’s injury” and believe the shooting was “unintentional.”

Police found the 20-year-old with a gunshot wound inside a crashed car in southeast Iowa City. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Iowa City Police Department.
