The University of Iowa announced earlier this month it is increasing staffing and expanding boundaries for its Nite Ride service, a service that provides students and staff with free rides in the areas around the university between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Incident happened on Interstate 380 midday Tuesday. Investigators say a manpointed the gun at a vehicle with two adults and two kids inside and fired the gun twice. One of the bullets struck the front end of the car, police said. No one was injured.
