Avery and Bennett Link continued a Cedar Rapids Xavier tennis tradition on Tuesday, capturing the Class 1A coed doubles state title, downing Kate Holton and Parker Stroh of Waterloo Columbus 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-6) in the title match.

After splitting the six singles matches, Dubuque Wahlert got a pair of straight-set wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to down Cedar Rapids Xavier, 5-3, in the Class 1A boys’ state tennis final. The Saints had claimed the last five championships.

Pella's Emily Blom and Claire Smock rallied from losing the first set to win the second set over Xavier's Izzy Tobin and Ruby Smith in a tiebreaker, then win the third set super tiebreaker, 10-5. The win gave the Dutch a 5-4 victory over the Saints in the Class 1A girls’ state tennis title match at Byrnes Park in Waterloo.
