State volleyball, Class 1A semifinal: BCLUW made its state tournament debut last year, losing in the semifinals. Now the Comets are taking it at least one step further in 2024 thanks to a sweep of Janesville.

State volleyball, Class 2A semifinal: Dyersville Beckman was the unfortunate team to be on the other side of the net as Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont’s Molly Shafer put on one of the best individual offensive performances in state tournament history.

State volleyball, Class 3A semifinal: No. 2 Western Christian was in control from the jump, rolling to a sweep of West Delaware and yet another trip to a state championship match.

State volleyball, Class 4A semifinals: Sioux City Heelan dug out of a 9-0 hole in the third set to complete a sweep of North Scott.

State volleyball, Class 5A semifinal: Ankeny Centennial rallied to force a fifth set after dropping the first two, but defending state champion Waukee Northwest won it 18-16 to return to the title match.

State volleyball, Class 1A quarterfinal: Oakland Riverside rebounded to win the fourth and fifth sets after watching North Tama rally from 11 points down to win the third.

State volleyball, Class 1A quarterfinal: All-state setter Katie Quick was in a zone during the first set of top-ranked Ankeny Christian’s win over No. 8 Don Bosco. Quick had 14 assists in the first set alone and finished with 34.

State volleyball, Class 2A quarterfinal: Dike-New Hartford may have lost three all-staters from last year's 50-0 Class 2A state volleyball championship team, but those who took their place looked more than capable of making it back-to-back titles in a win over Aplington-Parkersburg.

State volleyball, Class 2A quarterfinals: Top-ranked Denver had some issues, especially behind the service line against No. 11 Boyden-Hull. However, when it counted the most, the Cyclones came through with a big play.

State volleyball, Class 3A quarterfinals: Dubuque Wahlert’s growth as a team was on full display at a critical point of Tuesday’s win over Carroll Kuemper.

State volleyball, Class 3A quarterfinals: Top-ranked Mount Vernon has one of the best offensive attacks in the state. Mid-Prairie hants it hat on defense, which helped it make the state field for the first time in 20 seasons. Chalk one up for the offense of the Mustangs, but it certainly did not come easily.

State volleyball, Class 4A state quarterfinals: North Scott looked very capable of being able to repeat as the Class 4A state champion when it swept Glenwood in a first-round match Monday night.

State volleyball, Class 4A quarterfinals: Sioux City Heelan Coach Lauren Boatman has developed trust with her team and it showed in Monday’s win over Carlisle.

State volleyball, Class 5A quarterfinals: Waukee Northwest sophomore Logan Vogt said her team had never wanted to win a match so badly this entire season. After falling three times to No. 3 Ankeny in the regular season, the No. 6 Wolves swept the Hawks at state.
