Cedar Rapids Kennedy’s Reid Hall said he hasn’t had the best season, but the junior earned his second straight MVC Valley Division Player of the Year honor with a medalist performance, while Linn-Mar captured its first divisional crown under head coach Chris James. Cedar Falls swept the Mississippi Division.
Linn-Mar senior TJ Jackson had a homecoming game for the ages. It started with him taking back the opening kickoff 88 yards for a score. That was followed shortly after by a 51-yard scoring pass from Austin Waller. He capped his short night with a 90-yard punt return for a score as the Lions rolled to a 56-6 victory over Cedar Rapids Jefferson.

Instead of sulking about the inconvenience of off-campus practices and even playing the first home game at another Metro school, they opted to take on the challenges.
