The Linn County Board of Supervisors’ first consideration of a rezoning request for the Duane Arnold Solar projects near Palo will take place on Monday.

The first of three Linn County Board of Supervisors meetings that was supposed to provide a public forum on a proposed solar project was canceled before it could start on Monday. An oversight on a legal public notice about the meeting will force the county to reschedule its three planned meetings.

The decision will take place after three readings

City, county plan ‘community conversation’ at two-year mark of disaster

The Linn County Planning and Zoning Commission voted 4-3 Thursday night to recommend approval of two Palo area solar projects.

The certificates are pending future company filings and Linn County supervisor zoning approval next month.

The federal money allocated by the state will go toward paving the last 16 miles of trail along with other work needed to complete the project.

This week, the Iowa Utilities Board denied Coggon Solar LLC’s request for a certificate to operate.

The closure comes as Linn County is seeing high transmission rates of the virus again
