An Urbana man charged with hitting and killing a Center Point woman and injuring her boyfriend in a bar parking lot in 2019 will plead later this month.

First Assistant Linn County Attorney Nick Maybanks was appointed as county attorney Tuesday by the board of supervisors. He will fill the vacancy left by Jerry Vander Sanden who retired early at the end of last month. Maybanks will likely run for the elected position.
