I’m the Public Safety Reporter for The Gazette. I’ve always enjoyed writing and decided to be a newspaper reporter after my sophomore English teacher encouraged me to join my high school newspaper. I love news-style writing because it’s concise and straight forward. This job is great because I spend my days talking to people and sharing important and interesting stories. When I’m not at work I can usually be found playing card games or watching movies with my family.

Linn County’s Alliance for Equitable Housing in October unveiled plans for a pilot program, funded by Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, that would provide financial incentives to Linn County landlords to offer housing to individuals who have had difficulty getting approved for housing in the past. The program officially opened up to interested landlords on Nov. 20, but so far no landlords have been connected with tenants.
