The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday as voters cast their ballots in Iowa’s city and school board elections.
The Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board attorney said Friday he is looking into potential ethics issues as a complaint has been filed over a mailer criticizing Cedar Rapids mayoral candidate Tiffany O’Donnell for her support for Republicans. Steve Shriver says he resigned after learning Andrews’ campaign coordinated the mailer with a PAC.
Amara Andrews has raised $181,440 ahead of the Nov. 2 Cedar Rapids mayoral race, dwarfing the totals of incumbent Brad Hart and Women Lead Change Chief Executive Officer Tiffany O’Donnell, who raised $80,783.63 and $136,770, respectively.
Details remain in the works for where developers would build a potential casino ahead of the Nov. 2 vote on the Linn County gaming referendum, which leaves open the door for cities to seek a casino license. If passed, the matter will never come before county voters again.
