Seven Iowans died in three house fires this week in Mason City, Cedar Rapids and Onslow.

Two people died in a house fire just after noon Thursday in northeast Cedar Rapids, authorities said.

The Cedar Rapids Fire Department responded to a chlorine leak at the water treatment plant Friday morning. No injuries were reported, and city water supply was not exposed to contaminants.

While searching the two-story house, firefighters found a man and removed him. He was taken to UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital with serious injuries.

Police and firefighters responded after 7 a.m. Saturday to a report of a vehicle in the Cedar River about a mile upstream of the Edgewood Road bridge.

Cedar Rapids crews were called about 2:30 p.m. to the warehouse and office of NFI Interactive Logistics, 3110 Prairie Valley Ct. SW. Alarms to detect carbon monoxide were sounding and first responders found “multiple employees feeling unwell,” a news release said.
