Iowa girls' state basketball 2019: Tuesday's scores, stats and more

The Iowa high school girls' state basketball tournament continued Tuesday with seven more quarterfinal games.
Below are box scores from every game, plus extended coverage of Gazette area teams.

Tuesday's state tournament scores
CLASS 3A QUARTERFINALS
No. 3 Center Point-Urbana 67, West Marshall 31
CPU (22-2) was in control from the opening tip, leading 16-5 after one quarter and 41-11 at halftime.
Twelve Stormin' Pointers scored, led by Ryley Goebel's 19 and Adrianna Katcher's 17. Kayla Cripps had 13 for West Marshall (14-8).
CPU had 20 steals, including six from Goebel.
CLASS 4A QUARTERFINALS
No. 1 Marion 70, No. 14 Cedar Rapids Xavier 35
The defending Class 4A champions cruised in an all-Metro quarterfinal.
Marion (22-1) shot 53.5 percent and made 12 of 24 3-point shots. Xavier (14-9) shot 23.5 percent.
Kayba Laube led the Indians with 25 points, making 5 of 8 3-pointers and 8 of 8 free throws. Riley Wright added 15 points, Ella Van Weelden 10. Emily Jasper had 11 points and 13 boards for the Saints.
No. 4 Mason City 55, No. 5 Waverly-Shell Rock 49
Iowa commit Megan Meyer led the Mohawks (16-8) with 21 points.
Abbie Draper had 20 for the Go-Hawks (20-3).
No. 2 North Scott 56, No. 8 Denison-Schleswig 37
The Lancers jumped out to a 13-0 lead and were never seriously threatened.
Grace Boffeli Chloe Engelkes each scored 13 points for North Scott (20-3).
The Monarchs finished 20-3.
No. 6 Sioux City Heelan 55, No. 3 Grinnell 46
Heelan (19-5) shot 48.5 percent from the field to upset Grinnell (19-3), last year's 4A runner-up.
The Crusaders outscored the Tigers 13-6 in a decisive fourth quarter. Heelan's Ella Skinner scored a game-high 14 points and Amber Aesoph added 13.
Macy Harris led Grinnell with 13 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
CLASS 2A QUARTERFINALS
No. 1 Grundy Center 49, No. 15 Unity Christian 45
Sydney Matthews' steal and layup with 1:50 remaining broke a 43-43 tie and the top-ranked Spartans (23-0) hung on to advance.
Unity (19-6) trailed 48-45 when Justine Malenke's 3 with 15 seconds left misfired. Brooke Flater hit a free throw to seal it.
Eight players scored for Grundy Center, led by nine points apiece from Kyle Willis and Reegan Zinkula. Jori Bronner had 13 for the Knights, Janie Schoonhoven 12 and 15 rebounds.
No. 5 Cascade 52, No. 7 Dike-New Hartford 43
Cascade, the defending 2A champion, created separation with a 15-7 second quarter to go up 33-21 at halftime, then held on.
Abby Welter had 17 points and six boards for the Cougars (23-1). Nicole McDermott made 9 of 10 free throws and scored 15 points to go with six rebounds and two assists.
Ellie Foster scored a game-high 20 points for the Wolverines (20-3). Morgan Weber had 14 points and 11 rebounds.
