CEDAR RAPIDS - The men injured in Saturday's shooting behind Sam's Liquor in Cedar Rapids are expected to recover.
Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said two men - ages 32 and 29 - suffered gunshot wounds during the shooting that occurred around 9:02 p.m. in the back parking lot of Sam's Liquor, 1500 First Ave. NE. A third man, 39, suffered an injury police are attributing to shattering glass. A fourth man, Chaz McCann, 27, was not injured in the shooting, but was arrested for interference with official acts during the incident, Buelow said.
The gunshot wounds appear to be non-life threatening, Buelow said.
Police believe the four men were sitting in a vehicle at the time of the shooting. Buelow said someone allegedly went up to the vehicle and shot at the men.
Two of the men were able to run to a nearby Wendy's and ask for help.
Buelow said police do not believe Saturday night's shooting is related to a fatal shooting that occurred on July 2 at Walmart, 3601 29th Ave. SW.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Cedar Rapids police at (319) 286-5491 or Linn County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-272-7463.
