An 80-year-old man from Vinton died last week when the motorcycle he was operating collided with a deer in Buchanan County.

A Cedar Rapids man was seriously injured Thursday in a motorcycle crash in rural Linn County, according to a news release from the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

Barry R. Woodson, 62, was fatally injured when he lost control on Great River Road and struck a tree, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

Police said 34-year-old Reginald D. Busch failed to yield for a left turn at Blairs Ferry Road and C Avenue NE on Monday night and collided with a motorcycle, seriously injuring the motorcyclist.

First responders found an unconscious 52-year-old man about 30 feet down the embankment, according to a news release.
