Cedar Rapids man injured in motorcycle crash

CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids man was seriously injured Wednesday night in a motorcycle crash in rural Linn County, according to a Linn County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Joseph Saari, 51, was driving south on Lewis Access Road near Lewis Bottoms Road near Center Point when he failed to navigate a turn and drove off the road. The crash was reported around 7:15 p.m.

Saari, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics by a LifeGuard Air Ambulance.

The crash is being investigated by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
