Dyersville Beckman and senior Luke Harwick finished the first round of the Class 2A boys’ state golf tournament with the lead. When storms wiped out Tuesday’s second round, Beckman swept the team and individual titles at Coldwater Golf Links in Ames.

A good portion of Willliamsburg’s nucleus is back from its 2023 state softball championship team, and the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union took note. Williamsburg is the top-ranked team in the 3A preseason rankings, released Monday afternoon.

There are four classifications in Iowa high school boys’ soccer in 2024, meaning a total of 32 state tournament qualifiers. Here’s a breakdown of the substate brackets with a look at how Gazette-area teams are set up.

The state golf tournaments for all three classes will be held May 20-21 in Ames. The Class 3A state tournament will be at Veenker Memorial Golf Course, 2A will be at Coldwater Links and 1A will be at Ames Golf and Country Club.
