No. 1 Cedar Falls 3, No. 3 West Des Moines Valley 1 (14-25, 26-24, 25-14, 25-22)
The finish line was in sight, and Emerson Green was aware of Akacia Brown's appetite.

CLASS 3A
No. 7 Mount Vernon 3, No. 2 Carroll Kuemper 0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-14)
Goodbye, drama. Hello, dominance.
After four straight matches of five-set spine-tinglers, seventh-ranked Mount Vernon played brilliant volleyball from first serve until last, and destroyed No. 2 Carroll Kuempe in the Class 3A state championship match Friday afternoon at the U.S. Cellular Center.
'The kids' focus and execution was unbelievable,' said Mustangs Coach Maggie Willems, who earned her first title as a head coach (Shirley Ryan won three at Mount Vernon, in 1984, 2009, 2010).

No. 1 Western Christian 3, No. 3 Dyersville Beckman 1 (20-25, 25-18, 28-26, 25-16)

That vaulted her past former Dubuque Wahlert coach (and current Iowa High School Athletic Association director) Tom Keating, who won 11.
It's the 18th crown overall for Western (41-5).
