The trial for 16-year-old Baynon Berry, charged in the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Michael McCune, is set for Dec. 5 in Linn County. A prosecutor said Friday a plea offer has been made but not accepted at this time. She did not provide details about the offer.

A Cedar Rapids man who shot out multiple windows of a house and then fired shots at two police officers when they responded was convicted this week and faces up to 18 years. The prosecution is asking the court to find he is a habitual offender, which means he could face 15 years on each of the three felony convictions.
