An Illinois man, who qualified as a career offender with three drug convictions, was sentenced to over 13 years in federal prison. He distributed what appeared to be heroin to a regular buyer who overdosed because the drug contained fentanyl.

A 25-year-old Cedar Rapids man pleaded to five charges in three separate cases Thursday and faces up to 20 years in prison.
