The Marion City Council discussed during a work session Tuesday the possibility of adding traffic cameras at certain intersections in the city, as a way of helping with the Marion Police staffing shortage.

Iowa lawmakers once again are moving forward a bill that would restrict the ability of cities to use traffic enforcement cameras along state interstates and highways.

Among the bills that need at least some movement to survive this week’s funnel deadline are Republicans’ attempts to address what they consider transparency in public school curriculum.
