On July 19, 2018 a Tornado touched down in Marshalltown, Iowa, causing severe damage to a number of buildings throughout the downtown and surrounding neighborhoods.
The tornadic winds hit at 4:55 p.m. and ripped the clock tower off the courthouse and the tops off businesses and homes.
Marshalltown was just one of a number of towns in central Iowa effected by severe weather on Thursday.
A 9 p.m. curfew was set in Marshalltown as crews dealt with storm debris.
