Where will the Iowa players go in the NFL draft?
Apr. 28, 2016 1:19 pm
Iowa has posted 35 NFL draft picks over the last nine seasons and in every year but 2013, the Hawkeyes had at least three players selected.
This year's group doesn't contain a first-rounder like in 2010, 2011, 2012 or 2015. Iowa might have only one clear-cut draft pick in center Austin Blythe. But as usual, just about every starter will have a chance to go to training camp with an NFL team. That's at least something.
Here's a guess where the Hawkeyes end up, both in the NFL draft and as undrafted free agents:
DRAFT PICKS
Austin Blythe, fifth round, San Francisco
HKC, seventh round, Cleveland
Drew Ott, seventh round, Minnesota
Jordan Walsh, seventh round, Denver
FREE AGENTS
RB Jordan Canzeri, Green Bay
WR Tevaun Smith, Buffalo
S Jordan Lomax, Chicago
K Marshall Koehn, Atlanta
DE Nate Meier, Kansas City (would love to see him move to fullback)
FB Adam Cox, Minnesota
FB Macon Plewa, Indianapolis
CB Sean Draper, Cincinnati
LB Cole Fisher, Kansas City
WR Jake Hillyer, Houston
