Iowa high school boys’ state soccer 2021: Updated scores, brackets, schedule
The 2021 Iowa high school boys’ state soccer tournament kicks off Tuesday at Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines with a new schedule.
Instead of the traditional three rounds taking place over back-to-back-to-back days, there is an off day in between each round this season. The quarterfinals are Tuesday, semifinals Thursday and the championship games are set for Saturday.
Two classes are guaranteed new champions. Top-ranked Waukee lost to Ankeny Centennial in penalties in the Class 3A substate finals, while 2019 2A champ Lewis Central moved up to 3A this year (and lost in 2OT to Sioux City West in the substate finals). In Class 1A, third-ranked Iowa City Regina returns as the three-time defending champion.

Rankings listed are via the final regular-season coaches poll. Teams were seeded by the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s points system (three points for a win over a 3A school, two for a 2A win, one for 1A win, divided by regular-season games played).
