Iowa high school boys’ soccer 2024 all-state teams announced

North Fayette Valley’s first boys’ state soccer championship was naturally followed by a bevy of individual awards.

Four of the 13 Class 1A first-team all-state selections are TigerHawks. The Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association released the all-state teams Monday.

NFV leading scorer Lincoln Aeschliman (29 goals, 12 assists) and assists leader Andre Fuentes (34 assists, 23 goals) were among the first-team picks, as were defenders Kyler White and Micah Zurbriggen. Goalkeeper Trey Frieden received honorable mention. Aeschliman and White are juniors, Fuentes, Zurbriggen and Frieden seniors.

Zurbriggen scored the TigerHawks’ second goal in their 2-0 win over Van Meter in the 1A title game on June 1.

North Fayette Valley hadn’t won a game at state prior to this season, but beat West Sioux, Iowa City Regina and Van Meter in Des Moines to lift the trophy.

Regina had a pair of first-teamers in midfielder Jack Hoover and defender Eddie Petersen. West Branch, ranked No. 1 entering the state tournament, was represented on the first team by midfielder Trenton Schutte.

Two Iowa City West forwards received first-team all-state nods in Class 4A after a run to the state semifinals: Daniel Fuentes, who tied for second in the class with 24 goals, and Kaleab Wendy (14 goals).

Eventual state champion Johnston ended the Trojans’ season in a penalty shootout.

Iowa City Liberty forward Flori Gembo and defenders Thomas Cavin of Cedar Rapids Xavier and Jordan Fischer of Marion were first-team selections in Class 3A.

Forwards Jeramiah Rediske of Decorah and Braysen Doehrmann of Williamsburg were named to the Class 2A first team.

Treynor’s Danny Kinsella was named Mr. Iowa Soccer.
