High school softball notes: With 10 wins in their last 11 games, the Beckman Blazers are closing in on a River Valley Conference North Division softball title.

North Linn has won 13 straight games and remains a staple in the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association Class 1A rankings. The Lynx are 17-2 and ranked No. 7, entering Week 6 of the season.
