Baskin-Robbins returns to Eastern Iowa with Coralville opening

CORALVILLE — If you were screaming for ice cream during Eastern Iowa’s unusually warm winter this season, your wishes have been granted.
A new Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin’ doughnuts combo store opened quietly in February at 3240 Redhawk St. in Coralville. The new location is in the rapidly developing area near Foundry Food + Tap and Barrett’s Quality Eats.
The new Baskin-Robbins location appears to be the only one currently in Eastern Iowa. The next closest ones are in Platteville, Wis., and Des Moines. Thanks to Dunkin’s doughnuts and coffee sold in the same spot, the Coralville location opens bright and early at 4:30 a.m. most days, staying open until 7 or 8 p.m.
The new location precedes another combination store being planned at the corner of First Avenue and 19th Street NE in Cedar Rapids, the former Western Fraternal Life building.
The two sweet brands were acquired in a $11.3 billion deal by Inspire Brands in 2020. Since then, the duo has opened a number of stores together across the country.
