The Kernels beat Peoria in their regular-season finale, 11-0, to advance to the High-A Central League championship series opposite Quad Cities.

The Cedar Rapids Kernels hosted the Quad Cities River Bandits for their last home game at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021. The River Bandits won 6-4.

Former Mount Vernon and Iowa pitcher C.J. Eldred was assigned to Quad Cities over the weekend. He threw in his team’s 7-5 win over the Cedar Rapids Kernels on Sunday.
