CEDAR RAPIDS - Cedar Rapids police are investigating a truck versus pedestrian collision that left a woman with life-threatening injuries.
Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said police and fire officials were called to 15th Avenue and Sixth Street SW at 4:31 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. First responders found Glenda Masek, 62, in the street, suffering from life-threatening injuries, Buelow said.
Authorities determined a 2006 Ford F-350 truck driven by a 22-year-old man was westbound on 15th Avenue and turned left onto Sixth Street SW, striking Masek. Buelow said he did not have an update on Masek's condition on Wednesday.
The driver of the truck - who has not been charged and whose identity has not been released by police - remained on the scene to be interviewed by officers, Buelow said. Several witnesses also were identified.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, Buelow said.
