Wisconsin homicide suspect arrested after Jones County crash

Mar. 3, 2015 1:47 pm
JONES COUNTY - A suspect in a Wisconsin homicide case was arrested in Jones County after he put his car in a ditch Tuesday morning.
Jones County Sheriff Greg Graver said in a news release that his office received information from the Iowa State Patrol around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday that Bryce Anderson, 29, of Holmen, Wis., had gone into a ditch near Center Junction. The sheriff's office was also informed Anderson was wanted out of La Crosse County, Wis. for intentional homicide and he was armed with a shotgun.
Graver said Anderson called 911 at 8:17 a.m. and was connected with Jones County Dispatch. Anderson told dispatchers he had gone into the ditch at 80th Avenue and 130th Street, which is northwest of Onslow.
Units from multiple agencies responded to the location Anderson gave and found the vehicle there. Anderson, who stayed on the phone with dispatchers until authorities arrived, gave himself up without incident, Graver said.
Anderson was taken to the Jones County Jail where he is awaiting extradition to Wisconsin on one count of first-degree intentional homicide.
According to the Holmen, Wis. Police Department, officers there responded to a welfare check on March 2 at 7:04 p.m. Officers made entry into the residence and found a woman dead inside. Police said the woman was the 'victim of an apparent homicide.”
Authorities in Holmen would only confirm Anderson has been arrested and his charge.
The Jones County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Department of Transportation Enforcement, Anamosa Police Department, Clinton County Sheriff's Office, Delaware County Sheriff's Office and members of the Jones County Emergency Response Tactical Team.
