Utah man caught with one pound of marijuana after Coralville crash

CORALVILLE - Police discovered more than a pound of marijuana after investigating a single-car crash Tuesday morning.

According to a Coralville police criminal complaint, 20-year-old Uriel A. Flores, of Utah, was involved in a single-car crash on Interstate 80 in Coralville at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said Flores was transporting more than a pound of marijuana in his vehicle. Flores was taking the marijuana to Indiana, police said.

Flores admitted to transporting the marijuana for $3,000. Additionally, police found one tablet of ecstasy in the vehicle.

He was arrested and faces one count of a controlled substance violation, a Class D felony; one count of possession of a controlled substance, a serious misdemeanor; and an Iowa drug tax stamp violation, a Class D felony.
