UPDATE: Wednesday shooting ‘not a random act,’ authorities say

CEDAR RAPIDS - Wednesday's shooting on Fairway Terrace was 'not a random act,” public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said Friday.

However, many of the circumstances of the shooting - which left two men injured - remain under investigation.

'The exact circumstances of what happened, who shot whom, are still part of that ongoing investigation,” Buelow said.

Cedar Rapids police were called to 424 Fairway Terrace SE at 1:08 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a disturbance involving gunshots. Responding officers found two men - ages 26 and 43 - at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds. The two men were taken to local hospitals.

No arrests have been made in the incident, Buelow said.
