Third suspect arrested in University of Iowa dorm burglaries

IOWA CITY - The third suspect is a rash of dorm room burglaries on the University of Iowa campus has been arrested.
According to jail records, James T. Hua, 19, of Davenport was booked at the Johnson County Jail Monday morning on 12 counts of second-degree burglary and one count of first-degree theft. Both offenses are Class C felonies punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
University of Iowa police said Hua joined 19-year-old Alec J. Leibold and 19-year-old Jacob Odean, both of Davenport, in breaking into a dozen dorm rooms in the Quadrangle and Hillcrest residence halls in the early morning hours of Feb. 1. Police said the three men stole property worth more than $13,000.
The men were captured on video with the stolen property, police said.
Odean and Leibold also face 12 counts of second-degree burglary and one count of first-degree theft. None of the men are listed as students in the UI directory.
