CORALVILLE — One driver was killed and another person was injured in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 on Sunday.
According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, Patricia Ann Mittauer, 54, of Swisher was driving eastbound in an Acura MDX on Interstate 80 near the 240 mile marker at 12:50 p.m. Authorities said Mittauer's car was rear-ended by a car driven by 20-year-old Kaitlyn I. Richards of Coralville. That collision sent MIttauer's car into another lane, where a second collision occurred with a semi driven by 25-year-old Valeriu Buruiana of Woodridge, Ill.
Patricia Mittauer was killed in the crash. A second person, Mark William Mittauer, 59, also of Swisher, was injured and taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
The crash remains under investigation.
